The Hays County Child Protective Board (HCCPB) was formed to fight for abused and neglected children. With help from you and the Hays County community, the HCCPB works to raise and distribute funds to help children in the foster and kinship care by providing money to purchase food, clothing, medical, and educational supplies.

943 Number of child abuse/neglect cases investigated in Hays County in 2011. 261 Number of cases confirmed in Hays County in 2011. $30 Cost to buy the only birthday gift a child might receive. $30 Total amount allocated for holiday gifts for a toddler. $200 Initial clothing allowance for a teenager.

The vision of the Hays County Child Protective Board is to promote a safe environment for all children.
1. Defend the rights and special needs of Hays County Children.
2. Administer the budget made up of private donations and allocations from the Court.
3. Educate the public and the Court about child and family services.
4. Act as liaison between citizens and Child Protective Services Workers.
5. Influence legislation and policy related to CPS through networking and advocacy.
